I have a problem I have been struggling with since 9.0 (currently at 9.1 PL8)
The problem is simple, I want a report of the contact persons, and showing in this report if these are new, existing or updated contacts.
To do this I created a crystal report that adds these based on 2 fields. 1 field is an UDF where I write a value of when the last report was generated (after it has been generated of course). The second field I wanted to use is the UpdateDate from the OCPR.
This report is working, that isn't the problem. The problem is with the UpdateDate.
Scenario:
I create a BP and add contacts.
Now the report holds the data properly.
I add some new contacts and update 1.
The report is still properly.
Now a different SAP users updates any field on the BP (for example fax number of the BP (OCRD) (and not the one from the contact persons (OCPR))
The report goes wrong, because for all contacts the update date and time are now changed, even though there was no update to the contact person.
I already reported this to our sap partner but their answer was this is normal behavior, get used to it.
How can this be normal, change the update date, time, user when there are no updates. that can't be good.
Now my questions,
Is anybody able to tell me what to do to report this and get it resolved without our current partner?
is anybody able to give me a work around to get it working properly (without having to fill fields manually)
